1. The "Corner Strategy"
This is the most reliable way to win. Pick one corner of the board (for example, the bottom-left corner) and never swipe in a direction that moves your highest tile out of that corner. By keeping your highest number anchored in a corner, you can build a "chain" of descending numbers next to it (e.g., 1024, 512, 256, 128). This creates a conveyor belt of merges that keeps your board organized and prevents high-value tiles from getting trapped.
2. Avoid the "Up" and "Right" Swipes
If you are using the bottom-left corner strategy, you should primarily only use the Down and Left arrow keys. Swiping Up or Right risks displacing your highest tile from its safe corner, allowing smaller, disruptive numbers to spawn underneath it. Only use Up or Right as an absolute last resort when no other moves are available.
3. Think Two Moves Ahead
Before you swipe, look at where the new tile might spawn. If making a move will separate two matching tiles that you were planning to merge on your next turn, reconsider your move. Patience is just as important as quick reflexes in 2048.
